| properly. The IAA unit is made up of the AAC (Auxilliary Air Control) valve, and the FICD solenoid valve. I would like someone to tell me what "FICD" stands for. The FICD solenoid valve compensates for changes in idle speed caused by the operation of the air compressor. That is most likely where your problem lies. You could start with a simple spray cleaning with the unit still attached to the car. There is a write up on my website on this [ www.twinturbo.info ] > z32 > Idle Air Adjustment. Make sure all the clamps are tight and the connectors are clean and corrosion free. If that doesn't work, your FICD solenoid is prob bad. Then you will have to remove the IAA unit to test and clean the components. You test the FICD solenoid valve after it is removed by applying 12V direct current (e.g. battery) and see if it makes a clicking sound. See if the FICD plunger is sticking or if the spring is broken. Get yourself a factory service manual (FSM). The diagnostics for all these parts are in there somewhere under the EF & EC section.
